Ethiopia: Agricultural Transformation Agency supplier, US firm Ethio Lease, gets a $30m capital boost

The US-based investment firm Roha is injecting $30m into AAFC, one of its portfolio companies, to propel AAFC’s subsidiary Ethio Lease forward. The agricultural equipment leasing company, licenced by the National Bank of Ethiopia since 2019, recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ethiopian government.

The offering led by Roha, a New York-based financial holding company incorporated in the Cayman Islands, attracted “for the most part US family offices”, Dutch financier Frans Van Schaik told Jeune Afrique Business+. He is also the CEO of African Asset Finance Company (AAFC) and a partner at Roha.
