African Global Development to inject $900m in Air Burkina in the midst of turbulence

According to our sources, the American investor active in aviation intends to invest up to $900m to realign the Burkinabe air carrier’s flight path, which has been blown off course by the Covid-19 epidemic.

The parties signed a memorandum last June allowing African Global Development (AGD) to begin feasibility studies into a takeover of Air Burkina. According to our sources, at the beginning of the year the American company headed by Phil Smartt outlined its investment plans to the Air Burkina board of directors, which is chaired by former minister Clément Sawadogo.
