PepsiCo opts for continuity south of the Sahara with Tertius Carstens
The South African, who is currently CEO of Pioneer Foods, will lead PepsiCo’s activities south of the Sahara.

Tertius Alwyn Carstens has led Pioneer Foods since October 2017 after 26 years at the South African food company. Against the backdrop of the Covid-19 crisis, PepsiCo’s management has opted for continuity by placing Carstens at the helm of PepsiCo SSA, which has just taken over Pioneer Foods’ activities after the competition court in Pretoria gave the go-ahead last March.
