After the National Bank of Canada, Jean Kacou Diagou is challenged in Swiss Re arbitration case
The insurance company Swiss Re has initiated arbitration proceedings before the Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris against the founder of the continent’s main bancassurance group, according to our sources, thereby confirming rumours that have shaken up the Abidjan market in recent months. Swiss Re is disputing the dilution of its stake in NSIA Participations.

Swiss Re has been a partner of the Ivorian bancassurance group since 2017, after taking a minority stake in Manzi Finances, the family holding company of Jean Kacou Diagou, who controls just over 60% of NSIA Participations. The transaction amounted to €100m at that date.
