AfDB: Industrialisation, the weak link in Adesina’s re-election campaign
In addition to the accusations of poor governance made against him at the beginning of the year, insufficient industrial development, one of the African Development Bank’s (AfDB) priorities, is weakening Akinwumi Adesina’s campaign for re-election in August.

Even though industrialisation has been one the AfDB’s “High 5” priorities since Nigeria took control of leadership in 2015, according to Jeune Afrique Business+’s analysis of the Annual Development Effectiveness Reviews (ADER), carried out by a unit of the bank, the institution has failed to reach the objectives it set for itself in this area.
