Redundancies and litigation on the horizon for Schlumberger in Africa
The Houston-based oil services leader, which was founded nearly 100 years ago in France, has initiated a wave of job cuts affecting 21,000 employees, a quarter of its workforce. Schlumberger blames the effects of the Coronavirus crisis on the oil sector, with a barrel of oil now hovering around $40.
