Tewolde Gebremariam, Group CEO Ethiopian Airlines, calls on Adesina and the AfDB
According to a working paper of the African Development Bank (AfDB), the continent’s leading airline, Ethiopian Airlines, has requested support from the pan-African donor. A financial support document has been presented to the institution by the airline.

The amount of this short-term financing facility has not yet been disclosed, and requests for clarification have remained unanswered. We understand this financing is part of the exceptional mechanism put in place by the institution chaired by Akinwumi Adesina to assist the companies most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The mechanism, known as CRF for “Covid-19 Response Facility” has been deployed in many countries on the continent, including Togo, Benin, Djibouti, Rwanda, Ghana and South Africa.
