Lidya Madencilik (Ahmet Çalik) interested in the Congolese subsoil

Specialising since 2010 in the extraction of gold, copper and other precious metals in Turkey, Central Asia and the Balkans, the mining company is set to launch operations on the continent.

Lidya Madencilik, a subsidiary of the Çalik holding company, has just obtained three exploration licences in virgin areas of the copper-rich Kolwezi region, DR Congo. The company has also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Guinean Ministry of Mines, giving it the go-ahead to search for copper and other metals in an area of 20,000 km2 located near the border with Liberia.
