World Bank studies Antananarivo transport project while Ravatomanga takes delivery of trams
Swiss firm Transitec, the Canadian CPCS and Malagasy firm Evolutis have been commissioned by the finance institution to consider various surface transport options in the capital. Meanwhile, the Malagasy businessman and close government ally has already received electrified trams for the same project that require a large power supply, which is an issue in Antananarivo.

The Antananarivo urban transportation project, already the subject of an ineffectual study carried out by American firm Sterling and paid for by the World Bank in 2008, has again reared its head, according to our sources.
