On Wednesday 28 October at the Versailles Court of Appeal, a hearing was held on the case that has, since June 2019, seen a collective of NGOs – led by Survie and Friends of the Earth France, in tandem with Ugandan organisations – go up against Total. Total is accused of failing to fulfil its duty of vigilance as part of its oil project in Uganda.
