Ivan Glasenberg maintains Glencore oil fields closures in Chad

Since shutting down its Chad operations in April, the unfavourable economic situation that continues to weigh on crude oil prices is unlikely to convince Glencore International AG to resume extraction in Chad.

In the first nine months of the year, the Swiss commodities trading giant’s gross production in the landlocked Central African country amounted to only 1.5m barrels, of which 1.48m barrels were produced in the first quarter, according to the group’s latest figures.
