Anjarwalla & Khanna advises Equity Bank on Banque commerciale du Congo acquisition
After taking over a majority stake from the former reference shareholder, the Kenyan group says it plans to merge BCDC with its existing subsidiary in Central Africa.

Following the transaction’s closing on 7 August, Banque Commerciale du Congo (BCDC) joined ProCredit Bank Congo to become another financial institution acquired by Equity Group Holding PLC. Bought from Germany’s ProCredit, the latter entity’s name was changed to Equity Bank Congo SA (EBC).
