Already active in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan and Kuwait, Mobile Telecommunications Co (Zain) claims to have actively surveyed the Egyptian market for a potential takeover of a GSM operator, a transaction that would have expanded its Africa presence to four countries.
