Base Resources’ heavy fiscal agendas in Kenya and Madagascar
The Australian miner is currently conducting tax negotiations on two fronts: in Kenya, where its Kwale mineral sands mine is at the end of its life, and in Madagascar, where it plans to launch a new mining site.

This is a crucial period for Base Resources. The mining company paid an exceptional dividend of nearly A$ 30 million to its shareholders for a net cash flow remaining of A$ 72.8 million in the last half-year. However, turnover from the production of ilmenite, zircon, and rutile declined (-13%) in Kenya due to its depletion over the period.
