Robert Friedland’s HPX exercises option on Sama Resource’s nickel projects in Côte d’Ivoire

Robert Friedland, the famous Canadian mining entrepreneur who is developing the giant Kamoa-Kakula copper project in DR Congo, and the equally gigantic Platreef project in South Africa, is advancing on West Africa.

HPX Inc., Robert Friedland‘s holding company, currently involved in an iron project in the Nimba Mountains, Guinea (as reported in Jeune Afrique Business +), gained a foothold in Côte d’Ivoire in 2017. As part of an option and joint-venture agreement with Sama Resources, HPX Ivory Coast Holdings Inc, has invested C$12 million ($9.5 million) on exploring the nickel deposits of Samapleu.
