BMO Capital Markets alumni raise $9 million for manganese mine in Botswana
Giyani Metals Corp, a mining company listed on the Toronto Venture Exchange, has completed a $9 million equity financing to advance its pure manganese mining project in Botswana.

Today, only 9% of the world’s annual manganese production—approximately 20 million tonnes, mainly used to make steel—is used to transform high-purity manganese for use in cathodes in electric vehicle batteries. China dominates this booming market with more than 90% of the market share.
