ENSafrica and Webber Wentzel lead TymeBank’s $180 million round
The new South African bank has Patrice Motsepe’s African Rainbow Capital as one of its shareholders. The bank is active in the Philippines and has continental ambitions, attracting CDC and the Chinese company Tencent.

According to Africa Business+ sources, two South African law firms were overseeing the deal: ENSafrica and Webber Wentzel. Monique Maree, an M&A specialist in the Cape Town office, led the ENSafrica team. A lawyer at the local bar and a graduate of the University of Stellenbosch, she previously advised TymeBank on the start of its $110m Series B deal with Apis Partners and Singaporean conglomerate JG Summit.
