Steve Brookes’ Balwin Properties secures DEG funding to boost its fibre business 

Challenged in recent days on the JSE, this group, one of South Africa’s leading affordable housing developers, has obtained funding from the German development institution to develop its local fibre offering.

At the end of 2021, Steve Brookes, CEO of Balwin Properties, South Africa’s leading affordable housing company, negotiated an advance of R250 million (€15 million) from the German DEG to develop its fibre services within its complexes in the country’s main cities.
