CCC’s Yves Koné and Ghana Cocobod’s Joseph Aidoo backtrack on farmer remuneration scheme

According to its initiators, Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, the world’s top cocoa producers, are reviewing the controversial Decent Revenue Differential (DRD) scheme launched in 2019 to boost farmers’ incomes.

Yves Brahima Koné, the director-general of the Conseil Café Cacao (CCC), the sector’s regulatory and management body in Côte d’Ivoire, and his Ghanaian counterpart, Joseph Aidoo of Ghana Cocobod, will introduce a new DRD rate setting at the end of May.
