Simandou ultimatum : Colonel Doumbouya’s reasons for rejecting Simfer/WCS proposal

Africa Business+ has obtained a copy of the correspondence sent by the Guinean presidency to international partners a few days before the setting of an (oral) ultimatum summoning the operators of Simandou blocks 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 to set up a joint venture to exploit the iron resources.

This joint venture must comply with the spirit and principles of the tripartite framework agreement signed on 25 March. However, the Simandou Strategic Committee, overseeing the project on the Guinean side under the chairmanship of Djiba Diakite, believes that the conditions for this have not been met.
