Globeleq secures $72m senior debt and concessional loans for Kenya Menengai project
The AfDB is leading the way by providing $29.5 million in senior debt and raising $22.4 million in co-financing from Finnfund ($8 million) and the Trade and Development Bank of Southern and Eastern Africa (TDB).

The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) is also facilitating $20 million in concessional financing from the Clean Technology Fund to ensure the sustainability of the tariff. In addition, the AfDB is also providing a partial risk guarantee of $4 million to improve the project’s bankability.
