Tulu Moye 50 MW geothermal power plant in Ethiopia will cost $330 million

The total cost of the plant, developed by TMGO, will be confirmed once drilling to assess steam resources has been completed, says the Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA), administered by the African Development Bank (AfDB).

The Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA) awarded Ethiopia a $10 million repayable grant to finance part of the geothermal drilling programme that will add 50 MW of renewable energy to the country’s power system. This is the first direct financing by SEFA for such a programme.
