Announced in November 2021, the operation totalling €2.5bn that enabled Heineken to take control of Distell and Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) has just received the final go-ahead from the South Africa’s Competition Commission.

As the South African Competition Commission has finally approved Heineken’s acquisition of Distell, the transaction is now to be concluded before April. This, Africa Business+ has learned, has given rise to a management reshuffle.
