AFC CEO Samaila Zubairu secures $250m from UN Green Fund for Infrastructure Climate Resilient Fund

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) will finance the infrastructure fund of a new management structure created by AFC and led by Ayaan Zeinab Adam. The fund aims to be the continent’s largest green investment vehicle.

The Green Climate Fund (GCF), United Nation’s main multilateral climate fund, is to take a significant stake in a new vehicle of Lagos-based pan-African investor AFC, led by Samaila Zubairu. This is the UN fund’s largest capital commitment on the African continent. The Infrastructure Climate Resilient Fund (ICRF) is based in Incheon, near Seoul, and is led by Frenchman Yannick Glemarec, executive director.
