The plan is to increase yields and remain the region’s leading milk producer on the continent. The managers of Pearl DairyAnand Kapoor and Bhaskar Kotecha – whose families own the Midland group – have spent the last several months identifying and convincing backers to support their expansion project. Eager to strengthen their position in Uganda by modernising their assets and to reinforce their position in Kenya through acquisitions, they must mobilise substantial funding and are looking to obtain several tens of millions of dollars in loans.
