Jean-Claude Maillard, CEO of Figeac Aéro: “Morocco will account for around 50% of production under the new contract with Safran”

The French manufacturer, based in Figeac, has just signed a new €80 million contract with Safran Nacelles for the production of thousands of high value-added metal parts for the Airbus A320neo/LEAP-1A, a fast-growing programme.

“The production to be carried out in Morocco is exactly the same as that in France. We’ve been successfully industrialising in France for several years, and we’ll duplicate this process and know-how in Casablanca – a site that already employs almost 20% of our global workforce. Once we reach cruising speed, Morocco should account for just over 50% of production under this contract,” Jean-Claude Maillard, CEO of the Figeac Aéro Group, told Africa Business+.
