Next Monday’s decision should endorse a takeover of Bourbon – the specialist in maritime services for the offshore oil and gas industry – by Société Phocéenne de Participations. The latter, a special purpose vehicle set up for the operation is domiciled in Marseille and chaired by banker Jean Peyrelevade, who led restructuring of Crédit Lyonnais in the 1990s. The senior management team also includes Régis Rivière, a specialist in financial restructuring at the head of Alvarez & Marsall.
