Electrification in Togo: French behemoths such as Engie, Eranove and EDF remain in the race
The French groups stepped up to the plate to take part in the tender process which has sector giants from all four corners of the world going head to head.

As announced exclusively by our reporters last December, Faure Gnassingbé’s government received many bids for an ambitious mini-grid project spanning 317 localities throughout the country. On 20 April, the Togolese government approved 18 out of the 34 bids submitted by companies. The selection of prequalified bidders was carried out by Togo’s Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Agency, the body headed by Bolidja Tiem, a former official at CEET (Compagnie Energie Electrique du Togo).
