First Quantum Minerals (FQM) is striking back at the Zambian state. The TSX-listed miner recently initiated arbitration proceedings at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), located in Washington, DC, against the Zambian government and its Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development. The action marks the latest deterioration in relations between the miner and Zambia, with the two being at loggerheads with one another for several years now.
