Mauritania/black sand: Wafa Mining (Ghaddé family) keeps a close eye on Creocean/GSE’s evaluation
Marieme Bekaye, Mauritanian Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, has recruited French consortium Creocean/GSE to undertake an environmental, social and strategic assessment into the feasibility of exploiting black sand along the Mauritanian coast.

Creocean – an environmental engineering company headed by Denis Valance with a turnover of €10.5m in 2018 – and its partner GSE were selected (currently on a provisional basis) following an emergency call for tenders, and have three months to submit their findings to the Ministry.
