Mohamed Rissa and Moctar Thiam sign with Huawei, Nokia and ZTE to offer Orange Niger 4G

According to Jeune Afrique Business+ sources, the owners of Orange Niger have signed an agreement with three OEMs including Nokia and China’s Huawei to launch 4G. The service is expected to be operational by the end of this year.

“We have signed with Nokia and Huawei to roll out 4G. We are going to launch this service by the end of the year,” Souleymane Diallo, CEO of Orange Niger, told Jeune Afrique Business+. According to our sources, operator Nokia will take care of the radio technology side, and Huawei is in charge of the core network. The total amount of the investment is almost 10bn CFA francs (€15m).
