Dangote/BUA mining dispute: counsels from Paul Usoro & Co and KMO Legal await ruling on lease rights
In the legal battle that has pitted the Nigerian giants Dangote Cement/Dangote Industries and BUA International Ltd/Edo Cement Company Ltd against one another for several years, the latter just won one round of the fight.

In a recent court order, the Federal High Court (Benin City) acknowledged that BUA, owned by tycoon Abdul Samad Rabiu, has the right to resume operations at its three limestone (the primary raw material for making cement) mines in Obu, Okpella in Edo State (southern Nigeria). BUA, long established in the region, operates more than 20 mines in the area.
