Vazkine Project Management (VPM), a subsidiary of Serum Institute of India, the world’s fifth largest vaccine producer, has just received a cheque for its research activities. In its sights is a vast campaign of clinical trials in several African countries aimed at fighting tuberculosis.

Of a project costed at €90m by Vazkine Project Management (VPM), the European Investment Bank (EIB) has pledged to provide half of the amount in a single €45m tranche. Created in 2002 and based in Hanover, VPM specialises in the research and development of biomedical products. Since 2018, it has been owned by Serum Institute of India, one of the world’s leading vaccine producers along with GlaxoSmithKline, Sanofi-Aventis, Merck and Novartis.
