Changes afoot at Rubis Energie in the Indian Ocean
Joining the management team in Madagascar, Olivier Gasbarian, based in Djibouti for the past three years, is handing over to Jorge Hernando Rico, formerly of Trafigura and Necotrans, Jeune Afrique Business+ has learned.

On 1 November, Olivier Gasbarian, General Manager of the Rubis Energie Djibouti subsidiary since 2017, will pass the baton to Franco-Colombian Jorge Hernando Rico, currently Eres Togo’s Managing Director. Specialising in the transport of bitumen, Eres Togo is also a subsidiary of the French petroleum products distribution and storage major, which recorded a turnover of €4.38bn in 2019.
