South Africa’s Kaiser EDP and EPCM win contracts in Mauritanian extractive sector

Kaiser EDP will support the Ministry of Petroleum on local content, while EPCM Holdings will handle the master plan to develop the oil and gas sector. Mott MacDonald and Sofregaz were the losers in the bidding war.

A consortium, led by the South African firm Kaiser EDP, was selected by the Minister of Petroleum, Energy and Mines, Abdessalem Ould Mohamed Saleh, to develop a local content strategy in the extractive industries sector (petroleum, gas and mining). The Mauritanian partners are E2D and Malian Kanaga Consulting (an accounting firm in which the current Minister of Mines of Mali, Lamine Seydou Traoré, was a partner).
