On 19 April, the Malagasy group Axian (telecoms, energy, finance) announced the acquisition, for an unknown amount, of subsidiaries in Tanzania—Tigo Tanzania—and in Zantel—Zanzibar—from the mobile operator Millicom. To lead the negotiations, Hassanein Hiridjee, CEO and shareholder of the conglomerate, once again called on Stéphane Bénichou.
