CimTogo invests €50 million to face competition from Wacem

At the end of June, CimTogo, a subsidiary of German HeidelbergCement, will inaugurate the extension of its cement production plant in the port area of Lomé. Costing €30 million, it will provide an additional capacity of one million t/year.

The new installation will enable HeidelbergCement to increase its annual production to 2.5 million at the Lomé and Awandjélo site in Kara (in northern Togo). This offers a strategic strengthening in the Togolese market in which it now holds 50% of the market shares compared to 38% three years ago.
