AFR-IX launches major trans-Mediterranean cables project with EIB
The European institution is preparing to inject half of the financial backing required for the project to link the two shores of the Mediterranean.

A new large-scale submarine cable project is getting underway. Supported by AFR-IX – a provider of high-speed connectivity in Africa – the Medusa Submarine Cable System is to interconnect 11 countries between the Old Continent (Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and Greece), North Africa (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt) and Turkey.
