Libya: €75 million arbitration award in favour of Strabag confirmed

The Austrian construction company won several contracts associated with three Libyan public groups in the late 2000s. But the projects were abandoned after the 2011 uprising.

Three state agencies, including the Roads and Bridges Authority, the Housing and Infrastructure Board and the Transportation Projects Board, had awarded six contracts between 2006 and 2010, including those for the Tajura, TIAR and Garaboulli projects. However, it then suspended the work in the wake of the popular uprising in March 2011, which led to civil war.
