Despite USA DFC pressure Huawei wins Safaricom Ethiopia’s network contract
According to our sources, the Chinese group will build part of Safaricom’s future telecommunications network alongside Ericsson and Nokia.

The move is a snub to the US attempt to curb Chinese influence in Ethiopia. According to Africa Business+, Chinese network infrastructure manufacturer Huawei has finally secured a contract with Safaricom Ethiopia to install part of its future fibre optic network and telecom towers.
