After winning the tender in 2013, the project’s promoters, AP Moeller Maersk and Bolloré, indicated that the second container terminal of the Côte d’Ivoire’s economic capital would be operational in June 2020. But construction work on the terminal, with a capacity of 1.2 million TEUs per year and costing nearly €400 million, did not start until March 2020.
