Patrick Pouyanné: “No pressure to end ‘force majeure’ in Mozambique”

The CEO of TotalEnergies said that the group would reactivate financing from lenders for Mozambique LNG when the security conditions are met. This is not yet the case, even though the situation is stabilising.

While TotalEnergies has just launched its mega oil project on Lake Albert in Uganda, the group is still leaving the so-called “force majeure” clause activated on the even larger Mozambique LNG project, CEO Patrick Pouyanné said on the publication of its results on 10 February 2022.
