Behind the scenes, negotiations between the Arrawaj Foundation (formerly Al Baraka), one of the pioneers of microfinance in Morocco, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), headquartered in Washington DC, have been going on for several months. The discussions focused on Arrawaj obtaining a $15 million loan in local currency with a maturity of five years.
