Steg’s Hichem Anen signs $19m contract with Kalpataru to connect solar power plants

The CEO of the Tunisian state-owned company continues to make progress on the ambitious solar power plant programme.

Hichem Anen, head of the Tunisian Gas and Electricity Company (Steg) since the end of 2020, has contracted the Indian company Kalpataru Power Transmission for the equipment and construction of high-voltage overhead lines for the connection of the photovoltaic power stations of Mazzouna 2, Tozeur 2, Borj Bourguiba, Sagdoud, Metbasta and the Sfax desalination plant.
