The restructuring of the Dakar bus network, whose quality of service is often criticised by users, has been underway since 2020 by the Senegalese authorities and is receiving substantial financial support from the Luxembourg-based European Investment Bank (EIB). On 14 December, the Bank, headed by the German Werner Hoyer, approved a €167 million loan for the programme’s first phase.
