Former Orange Executive Ali Samimi accelerates Digital Virgo’s Africa expansion
The veteran telecoms operator and expert on the continent is tasked with expanding the activities of the French group specialising in digital payments.

Having arrived in September as head of Digital Virgo in Africa, the former Orange executive is settling into a group specialising in mobile payments, present on the continent for some 15 years. Ali Samimi is used to special missions: he managed the transfer of Orange Niger’s activities to Zamani Telecom and piloted the Covid crisis response strategy for seven months within Orange Africa and the Middle East (OMEA).
