Nicolas de Blanpré appointed CEO of Savannah Energy’s COTCo

On 24 May, the former head of the Chadian subsidiary of the British junior Savannah Energy was named managing director of the Cameroon Oil Transportation Company (COTCo), which manages the Chad-Cameroon pipeline.

The former Perenco executive will be responsible for the smooth running of the Cameroon Oil Transportation Company (COTCo), in which Savannah Energy has a 31.06% stake. COTCo owns and operates the 903 km Cameroon section of the 1,000 km Chad-Cameroon export pipeline and the Kome Kribi 1 floating storage and offloading facility and associated infrastructure. The pipeline has a capacity of 250,000 barrels of oil per day. It remains the only international export route for Chad’s oil production. In 2022, COTCo transported an average of 124,000 b/d of crude oil worth an estimated $4.6 billion at current Brent prices.
