CI-Energies seeks backing for Africa’s first floating solar power station
The donor and operator of this unique project in Africa are recruiting a consultant to carry out studies for the development of the facility.

The floating solar photovoltaic project on Lake Kossou in central Côte d’Ivoire was first announced by Thierry Tanoh, Minister of Petroleum, Energy and Renewables in 2018. With financing of €80m ($88m) from France’s development agency (Agence française de développement -AFD), it will be operated by CI-Energies, the national power utility, headed by CEO Amidou Traoré.
