With the launch of Butterfly, Côte Ouest Audiovisuel seeks to bring VOD to African telecom operators
After teaming up in early March with the Ivorian company Agora Services, in charge of technical and marketing development, the Abidjan-based content producer and distributor will be offering turnkey VOD platforms to telecom operators.

Bernard Azria, CEO of Côte Ouest, has told Jeune Afrique Business+ that the partnership is a solution to a dilemma facing content producers: “For some time now, as a content producer and distributor we’ve been dealing with the following equation: the disappearance of the free-to-air-based business model and the delay in implementing the new pattern of consumption, i.e., platforms”.
