Engie maintains commitment to Kenya with Olkaria VI geothermal project ($490m)
In the midst of a restructure, the French group has just been shortlisted alongside Toyota Tsusho as one of the five finalists for the first Kenyan PPP in geothermal energy, opposite Enel and Sumitomo.

During this time of both a global energy sector crisis and an internal restructure, Engie has decided to continue forging ahead in Kenya. “The group remains committed to carrying out the Olkaria VI geothermal project as a PPP, for which, as part of a consortium, it is one of the pre-qualifiers”, a source close to the French energy company told Jeune Afrique Business+.
